Kochi hosted a MobiliseHER partners’ workshop bringing together UEMI, WRI India, CEPT University Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) and the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), with support from C-HeD.
The MobiliseHER is a three-year project, co-funded by EuropeAid, and implemented by a partnership between Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI), WRI India, CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) and Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA India).
Alongside Kochi, MobiliseHER is being implemented in Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, with the objective of strengthening the role of civil society organisations (CSOs) in urban transport planning.

Reaching the mid-term point and adjusting plans
The workshop marked the halfway stage of the project. Partners reviewed progress from the first year, discussed financial processes and documentation, and looked at challenges. UEMI presented a review of approved budgets and expenditure for Year 1, highlighting challenges related to financial documentation, review processes, and approvals.
City teams revisited activity timelines. They identified pending and delayed tasks, considered which actions may move from Year 2 into Year 3, and discussed how far the third-year activities can be completed within the current schedule or may require more time.
Aligning on next steps
Each organisation shared its plans for the next phase. Partners agreed on how knowledge products will be produced and published, how pilot projects should be implemented, and what steps are needed to scale outcomes to other Indian cities. They also agreed to share anticipated Year-2 budgets and meet again by mid-May to review progress and respond to implementation issues.
Clear actions moving forward
The meeting closed with alignment on work plans for the next 15 months, clearer coordination on budgets and implementation, and a shared approach to knowledge outputs and pilots.
