E-Moviliza
Several electric vehicle trials have now concluded in Ecuador, alongside the 13-month cross-docking pilot involving 25 companies. The activities gathered operational data and practical lessons to support the project’s assessment of electric last-mile logistics.
In Rumiñahui, the electric tricycles will remain permanently with the local recyclers’ association for its daily operations. The team has also shared pilot findings in national discussions on charging infrastructure, financing and regulation, including the Electromobility Roundtable.
Coming Next SmartCorners
SmartCorners will present the results of three years of work at its Final Event in Turin, co-located with ToSVE 2026. The programme includes demonstrator vehicles, technical presentations, poster sessions and distributed X-in-the-Loop (XIL) demonstrations, with access to the latter by invitation only.
Colleagues attending can also visit the joint SmartCorners–AETHER booth and learn more about the Active Wheel Corner Community (AWCC).

Closing a chapter: GEMINI

GEMINI’s Final Event in Turin brought project partners together to reflect on three years of work and discuss how its results can support future shared mobility initiatives. Coordinated by UEMI, the project united 43 partners from 17 European states, with eight Mobility Living Labs testing solutions shaped by local needs, from community-led carsharing to mobility hubs and transport around football stadiums.
Alongside these pilots, GEMINI developed practical resources, including the Policy Package, the Shared Mobility Handbook, the interactive 3D Mobility World and the GEMINI Academy. These tools offer guidance and learning materials to help cities, operators and communities plan, implement and sustain shared mobility services. UEMI’s closing presentation emphasised adapting solutions to local contexts, integrating them into mobility planning and strengthening cooperation between authorities, operators and users, extending the value of GEMINI’s work beyond the project.

TRANS-SAFE
TRANS-SAFE joined sister project AfroSAFE and the European Commission at UITP headquarters in Brussels for its final review meeting. The meeting reviewed four years of work on road safety in African cities, bringing together research findings and demonstration activities that can inform future action.
It also provided an opportunity to exchange lessons with AfroSAFE and reflect on the consortium’s contributions. As the project closes, its toolbox, deliverables and case studies remain freely available for colleagues and partners to use in future work.
ACCESS
At Argentina’s PONTS annual meeting, Antonio CortĂ©s presented the ACCESS pilot initiatives being developed in Buenos Aires.Â
Fernando Dobrusky, UEMI consultant and ACCESS local implementer in Argentina, led a working session on transport digitalisation, including potential AI applications. Held within the PROCLIMAR project, the event brought together government, industry and academia.
