UEMI

The Courier School in Ecuador has evolved into an inclusive learning space led by Grupo Entregas with UTPL, MINTEL, BID Lab, UNHCR, World Vision and partners, including UEMI. Delivered mainly online, the programme combines academic certification with practical modules on courier operations, safety, sustainable mobility and e-mobility.

The latest edition welcomed women and people with disabilities, reflecting its strong focus on accessibility and equitable opportunities in last-mile logistics. UEMI continues to support the initiative through training contributions and collaboration on e-mobility content.

ACCESS

On 19 and 20 November, Argentina hosted the launch of ACCESS. The event gathered national and local authorities, private-sector representatives and academia to explore how digital tools can support cleaner and more efficient transport systems.

Implemented with Wuppertal Institute, UN-Habitat, UEMI, ICLEI and Asociación Sustentar, and financed by IKI, the project aims to advance low-carbon mobility across Latin America.

The launch highlighted strong collaboration and set the foundation for smarter and more inclusive urban mobility in the region.

eBRT2030

Shruti Raje represented UEMI at the SCALE Final Event, where she presented on how interoperability, international expansion, and policy frameworks are key enablers of large-scale V2X adoption. She also shared comparative studies from the Netherlands, Japan, Uruguay and Tanzania, which sparked interest and led to further discussions beyond the panel.

Coming Next Le Mesurier

On 4 December 2025, the Le Mesurier project will host its final online event, taking place from 10:00 to 13:00 CET.

The session will review the project’s key findings on monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of the 2Zero Partnership. It will also explore the Partnership’s KPI values and related measurement approaches, offering dedicated insights for stakeholders, researchers and policy makers.

Activities in Latin America

On 13 November, Grupo Mavesa hosted a training session at their facilities in the north of Quito on the operation of the Farizon V6 model, aimed at the new companies joining the pilot.

The session was carried out in coordination with UEMI, UNEP, CMS and El Ordeño, which will begin operations in December and actively participated in the training. Their representative had the chance to test the vehicle and learn more about its features.

On 20 November, BYD led a training session at the AVIS BUDGET facilities, where the two BYD T3 vans are located, aimed at the new companies joining the last-mile logistics pilot, including Mundo Mágico de la Mascota and Frutería Monserrate.

The session was carried out in coordination with the teams of UEMI, AVIS and EPN, who actively participated throughout the activity.

As part of the delivery of vans for the second phase of the pilot, Frutería Monserrate and Mundo Mágico de la Mascota are joining the initiative, helping strengthen urban logistics through cleaner and more efficient mobility solutions. Their participation reinforces our shared commitment to advancing electric mobility and promoting responsible practices with positive environmental impact.

eBRT2030

Bogotá has launched the first demonstration of the eBRT2030 project, introducing a new generation of electric buses equipped with advanced safety features, fast charging and digital tools for fleet optimisation.

The pilot, developed with TransMilenio, Scania, La Rolita and partners, marks an important step toward more efficient and low-emission public transport in the city. It also highlights how collaborative innovation across sectors can accelerate cleaner mobility solutions in Latin America.
