ACCESS
The ACCESS team held three validation workshops in Buenos Aires, bringing together public authorities, logistics operators, technology providers, and academia. The feedback helped refine the two urban logistics pilots and identify practical considerations related to infrastructure, interoperability, cybersecurity, and scalability.
The recommendations will now support the next phase of implementation.
Activities in Latin America
On July 23, UEMI presented the results, key performance indicators and lessons learned from the E-Moviliza pilot during the third meeting of the Technical Working Group on Electric Mobility and Vehicle Scrappage. The Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport expressed interest in continuing the collaboration, including topics such as vehicle and battery end-of-life management, public policy proposals, and strategies to scale and replicate similar initiatives across Ecuador.
On July 6, a Jinma electric vehicle was delivered to Pronaca for an initial one-month pilot supporting refrigerated product distribution in Quito’s Historic Center. The vehicle will use the Cross-Docking platform and distribution routes to evaluate its performance, cold-chain adaptations and efficiency under real last-mile logistics operations.
An electric tricycle was also delivered to Gloria Farinango on a one-month loan to support her recycling activities. A GPS device will collect data on altitude, distance, payload, speed and road gradient to evaluate the vehicle’s performance under real operating conditions.
