Activities in Latin America

Recent updates from E-Moviliza show how the project is turning electric urban logistics into a practical pilot in Quito. From the Cross-Docking platform at Museo del Agua Yaku, in the city’s Historic Centre, participating companies are consolidating goods and testing last-mile deliveries with electric vehicles.
Between August and November 2025, the pilot recorded an average of 268.86 kg of goods delivered per hour, 15.5% average battery consumption per route, 40.57 km average distance per route, and 9,516.89 kgCOâ‚‚-eq in managed emissions.
The project also welcomed representatives from the Chamber of Industry and Production (CIP), opening discussions on warehouse use, route optimisation, operational efficiency, and the possible transition from diesel to electric fleets. These exchanges show growing private-sector interest in cleaner and more efficient logistics models.

FROM RESEARCH TO IMPACT
ACCESS partners met in Mexico City from 20 to 24 April for a week of exchange on smart and sustainable urban mobility transitions. The workshop brought together participants from Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, and Mexico to discuss transport, digitalisation, and low-carbon mobility solutions.
Through sessions and technical visits, participants explored examples such as MetrobĂşs electrification, CablebĂşs, cycling infrastructure, ECOBICI, and digital mobility tools, while reflecting on how these experiences can support future collaboration across ACCESS cities.

We appreciate your interest in our work. Don’t forget to explore more on our blog and follow UEMI on LinkedIn for regular updates.
