ACCESS
Within the framework of the project “ACCESS: Accelerating Access to Low Carbon Urban Mobility Solutions through Digitalization,” a study visit to Mexico City will bring together partners to exchange knowledge and experiences. This exchange workshop aims to explore how ACCESS cities can learn from relevant Mexican experiences to support the implementation of their pilot projects in Latin America.
The focus will be on initiatives related to the electrification and digitalization of public transport, the reduction of air pollution from mobile sources, and successful examples of non-motorized transport. The workshop will offer ACCESS consortium partners a valuable opportunity to engage with local implementers, municipal officials, and public authorities, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration. This activity is part of the project’s capacity-building component.
Activities in Latin America

From 13 to 17 March, the Train the Trainer Course marked an important step in supporting Ecuador’s transition to low-emission transport. Bringing together national and international experts, the programme offered practical insights into key operational, technical and regulatory aspects of electromobility and sustainable mobility. More than 90 professionals took part, contributing to stronger local capacities and helping extend this knowledge within their respective institutions. A gender perspective was also integrated throughout the programme, reinforcing the importance of an inclusive and equitable transition.
At the same time, HDS Express completed its participation in the pilot programme, concluding an important testing phase within the project. Through its involvement, the company contributed to advancing practical experience with electric mobility in urban logistics and to generating valuable insights for the pilot’s final stage.
As E-Moviliza enters this final phase, three new companies have joined the project: Transportes Tituaña y Cadena, Café Barba Roja and Laar Courier Express, with operations set to begin on 6 April 2026. Together, they represent a range of logistics needs, from parcel and document distribution to the delivery of coffee products and event equipment. During this phase, they will rely on the cross-docking model to help optimise logistics processes while generating valuable insights for the final stage of the pilot.

Women’s Month
As part of Women’s Month, we published a blogpost featuring the experiences of Shruti Raje, Alexandra Suasnavas and Maryam Elamiri across different roles and contexts at UEMI.
Their reflections highlight different pathways into the electric mobility sector and show how this work is also shaped by learning, adaptability, collaboration and everyday experience.

We appreciate your interest in our work. Don’t forget to explore more on our blog and follow UEMI on LinkedIn for regular updates.
