New Urban Pathways to Better Air Quality and Climate Action: A Call for Action by Cities This project will assist National Government and cities in collaboratively identifying policy measures in line with the New Urban Agenda and the respective Nationally Determined Contributions of up to six countries (Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Vietnam). The project will take a holistic approach and optimise the synergies between transport, energy and resource management operations. It will build on UN-Habitat´s Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI), undertaking for example detailed policy measures that would result in the greater uptake of electric mobility in conjunction with a transition to clean energy sources.
Impact: This project will aim to make a contribution to a 1.5 Degree Celsius stabilisation pathway and will also contribute to making cities and human settlements more inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable by providing access to adequate, safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable basic services and infrastructure for all.
Activities: Low-carbon cities implementation actions National and local decarbonisation pathways and action plans Exchange and capacity building
